The iPM Portable is a small size air quality monitor that uses laser light scatter and light extinction method to measure PM1, PM2.5, PM10 and TSP particles precisely.
Turnkey’s new iPM Portable combines light extinction and light scatter to accurately analyze individual airborne particles. This means it can measure all PM size fractions at once, with a high degree of accuracy. In contrast to fan based samplers, a real pump, air filter, and flow controller are used in the iPM Portable, and the sample air flow rate is kept constant. It also recirculates clean air within itself, which shields its optics from accumulating dust and grime as time goes by.
The pump itself is built to last. It runs on an ultrasonic mechanism, so it’s virtually silent, and its long life means less maintenance down the line. The filter capsule is interchangeable, so you can swap it out and send it off for material analysis of the collected dust whenever needed.
For damp or misty conditions, the iPM Portable offers an optional temperature-controlled heated inlet that removes water droplets before they can throw off your readings, making it a great fit for both indoor and outdoor use. You can set your own sample temperature, or if you’ve got an ambient temperature and humidity probe fitted, the system can hold the sample flow at a constant humidity level instead. The iPM Portable is also pending MCERTS approval for PM2.5 and PM10 measurements.
Now you can add gas pollution monitoring to your iPMplus with the new iGASpod plugin. It measures TSP, PM10, PM2.5, and PM1 all at the same time, giving you a clearer picture of what’s in the air around you.

The iPM Portable uses a laser and light detector to quantify the extent to which airborne particles scatter light, allowing it to size and count individual PM1, PM2.5, PM10, and TSP particles. A pump pulls air samples in, and an optional heated inlet can help keep water droplets from being read as dust particles – a must-have when you’re working in humid conditions.
