Product overview

The Thermogravimetric Analyzer continuously records the changes in mass of a sample with time and at varying temperature using highly accurate microbalance, computer-controlled programmable furnace, and controlled purged gas.

Thermogravimetric Analyzer (TGA) is a thermal analysis technique used to measure the weight loss or gain of the material as a function of temperature and time. A TGA consists of a precise microbalance, programmable furnace and purge gas (nitrogen, air, argon, etc.). The temperature of the sample inside the furnace increases usually at a constant rate to create a thermal transition. Thermal transition may depend on different atmospheres like air, inert gas, pressurized gas, oxidizing or reducing gases, etc.

Decomposition patterns characteristics as a function of temperature and time can be analysed using this material characterization technique. This technique is used in a wide range of industries like polymer, composites, films, paints & coatings, grease, food, ceramics, etc.
