Corrosive and Toxic Storage Cabinet

Corrosives and acids don’t give you a second chance if the storage is wrong. That’s really the whole point of this cabinet. It’s steel, built specifically to keep dangerous corrosives and toxic substances away from anyone working in the same room.

There’s an internal sump built into the base. If something leaks, it catches it there instead of letting it spread across the floor. And the vents, the ones with caps on them, do something people often overlook, they let fumes get out safely instead of building up in a closed lab space where people are breathing that air all day.

Structurally it’s double wall, 18 gauge steel, so it’s not flimsy. A keyed lock keeps it from being opened by just anyone walking past. Simple, but it works.

Inside is where it gets a bit clever. The shelves are sloped, and they’re made from 100% HDPE poly, not painted metal. So if there’s ever a spill on the shelf itself, gravity does its job and the slope carries it away instead of letting it sit and eat through something. The poly material also just handles corrosive contact a lot better than bare steel would over time.
